Moissanite

Moissanite is a rare mineral form of silicon carbide discovered in a meteorite by Henri Moissan in 1893. Moissanite is 9.5 in hardness on the Moh’s scale, just below diamond and above sapphire, and has excellent optical properties that mimic diamonds. Natural moissanite is extremely rare and commercially available moissanite is lab grown material. Moissanite is an excellent gem and diamond alternative because of its extreme hardness and even higher refractive index- creating a stronger rainbow effect than diamond.

Moissanite is a beautiful, durable and economical alternative to diamond and now there are even more choices when it comes to selecting the perfect stone for you custom designed engagement ring!
